VICTOR HARBOR BOWLING CLUB Inc.
CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The Victor Harbor Bowling Club has a great history reaching back to 1908. What you see today is a huge investment that is proudly owned by the members of this Club. The Committee of Management of the Club take this responsibility seriously and as such have set the following guidelines in place to protect the interests of both our members and other visitors using the facility.
The agreement of hire as listed in the Club’s ‘Function Hire Sheet’ is an agreement between the Club and the person so named hiring the Club. That person will be ultimately held responsible for the payment of any monies owed and all other such activities mentioned in the Function Hire Sheet and this document.
The Club has a duty of care to our staff and to all persons using the facility – at all times – and as such will ensure that the requirements listed here and on the ‘Function Hire Sheet’ is adhered to.
NO beverages, alcoholic or otherwise to be brought into the club premises. If special wines/champagnes are required, please request and we will attempt to meet your request. (corkage fee may apply).
All Club facilities are to be left as found – in a clean and undamaged condition.
Without authorisation – no equipment or items belonging to the Club are to be removed from the premises.
A bond is taken from all hirers and will only be returned when all conditions of this agreement and conditions of hire are met in full.
The Club is accredited as a ‘Good Sports’ Club and as such takes our responsibilities seriously relative to the responsible service of alcohol.
NO sticky tape (or similar) is to be used on any club structure or furniture. Always consult club staff in the first instance.
The ceiling of the club is not a hanging or sticking point for decorations. Please ensure that your ‘decorator’ is aware of this fact.
The use of candles or other appliances involving fire is prohibited without the permission of Club staff.
The hirer is to always nominate a responsible person with whom Club staff can communicate with during the event. That responsible person will be held accountable for decisions made relative to payment of account/s, bar service, cleaning, breakages, general behaviour of visitors, music, closing of the bar & club etc.
The Club has a ‘No Smoking’ policy that is confined to the boundaries of the Club property – clearly aligned with the brick fencing around the borders of the property.
This is a bowling Club and as such is very protective of the Club and our synthetic greens. Unless the event revolves around bowling – the greens are out of bounds to all visitors.
The club encourages visitors to have their children present at the function – however we do ask that they be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
The Club’s closing time is midnight and ‘last drinks’ will be called at 11.30 pm – with the expectation that patrons be leaving the premises by midnight. Please make this known on your invitations.
THE BAR MANAGER/PRESIDENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANY PATRON WHO IS INTOXICATED, BEHAVING IN A DISORDERLY MANNER OR WHO IS COMPLICIT IN SUCH BEHAVIOUR.
We always reserve the right to call for the Police assistance.
